Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can't attend every class during the 4-week course?

Once you’ve booked, simply tell us the dates you can’t attend and they will be carried over to another week. As long as you tell us in advance, you will definitely get all 4 classes you pay for.

What happens at the end of the 4-week course?

Graduates of the Taster Course will be invited to enrol on the Beginners Course which takes your learning to the next level and rolls on as a weekly class.

What should I wear?

We move around quite a lot so loose comfortable clothing is a must.

To start with, trainers, tracksuit bottoms a T-shirt and perhaps a sweatshirt too.

Can I train barefoot?

It is best to wear trainers or plimsolls.

We pride ourselves on being an injury-free zone and footwear provides protection from splinters, toe-stubs and heavy-footed clumsy oafs.

We have suitable footwear for sale and we can provide it on the night if you bring cash with you.

Where is Manchester Taoist Centre?

We are currently looking for a permanent home but at the moment we run classes in Withington and Chorlton.

Where can I park?

All of our classes have lots of free on-street parking outside.

Is it a beginners class?

Yes, the first part of the class is a beginners class.

There are a mix of new students as well as some who have been coming longer.

Everybody is there to help beginners feel supported and able to learn at their own pace.

Students who have been coming longer also stay for an additional class after the beginners have gone home.

Am I too old/young/fat/thin/ill/injured/anxious to do the class?

Everyone is welcome ….. however, our classes are more focused on providing a higher energy experience for people in their twenties and thirties.

Age is definitely not a barrier (I’m in my late 50s!)

But it’s only fair to tell you that we don’t run  ‘cup of tea and a chat’ kind of Tai Chi classes 🙂 only book if you are looking to get some good exercise.

What if I don't like it?

We offer you a 100% money-back guarantee.

If at the end of the course, you don’t feel delighted about your decision to sign up. If you don’t think we’ve given you value for money then simply tell us and we will be more than happy to take on board your comments and give you a full refund on the spot.

No hard feelings and absolutely no risk to you when you book.
